Our first stop of the day was at the Pineapple Promenade. This booth integrated pineapple into every item, from its food to its drinks. We shared the pineapple soft serve with macadamia nut flavored rum. It was delicious and a refreshing way to start the day.
Up next was a stop at The Smokehouse: Barbecues and Brews booth. Since we can’t eat anything here seeing as they didn’t have any veggie friendly items, we decided to have a go at the beer sampler. This included: Billy’s Chilies (a chilie infused beer), Floridian Hefeweizen, Category 3 IPA, and last but not least, a Maple Bacon Stout from Shipyard Brewing Company. I was a little weary of the maple bacon stout, but it was actually pretty good!
At the Florida Fresh booth we enjoyed a watermelon passion fruit slush with a generous amount of gin added to it. Such a simple drink but oh so good. We found a cookbook that had this recipe in it at one of the gift shops. Score!
